Pikey Peak Trek

After breakfast, you will set off on a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Patale, which takes about 7–8 hours. The journey passes through terraced hillsides, small towns, and traditional villages, giving you a glimpse of rural Nepal.

Today’s trek will takes you deeper into the Solu region. The trail winds through pine and rhododendron forests, small Sherpa settlements, and yak pastures. Along the way, you will pass prayer flags and monasteries that highlight the spiritual life of the region. After trekking for about 2–3 hours, you will reach Chimding, where you’ll stay overnight in a typical Nepali style house.

The trek from Chimding to Bhulbhule is a scenic, moderate walk taking approximately 4 to 6 hours through the heart of the lower Solu region. Leaving the quiet charm of Chimding, the trail winds through lush rhododendron and pine forests, crossing terraced hillsides, scattered traditional settlements, and rushing mountain streams. Along the way, trekkers are treated to sweeping views of the surrounding valleys and distant Himalayan peaks. With a balanced mix of gentle ascents and descents along quiet ridges, this segment offers an authentic glimpse into rural mountain life before arriving at the welcoming rest stop of Bhulbhule.

After trekking for about 6–7 hours, you will reach Pikey Base Camp, where you’ll stay overnight in a teahouse at the foot of the peak.

An early start today will rewards you with one of the best views in the Himalayas. A short hike of 1–1.5 hours will takes you to the summit of Pikey Peak (4,065m), just in time to witness the sunrise. From the top, you can see an incredible panorama of Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Annapurna, and Numbur Himal. After enjoying the scenery, you will descend along forested trails and ridges, trekking for 6–7 hours to reach Junbesi. You will have overnight stay in a local lodge.

The trek from Junbesi (2,700 m) to Ringmo (2,720 m) is a scenic 4-to-6-hour walk through the lower Solu region of Nepal, following historic trails shaded by dense pine and rhododendron forests. Starting with a descent across the Junbesi Khola, the route climbs steadily along forested ridges and passes small Sherpa settlements, mani walls, and terraced fields. Trekkers often reach the high vantage point of Phurteng, which offers dramatic first glimpses of Mount Everest, Thamserku, and Mera Peak on a clear morning. From there, the trail winds past local apple orchards and chortens before arriving in Ringmo, a quiet village renowned for its fresh apple products, cider, and proximity to the Taksindu La pass.

The trek from Ringmo to Phaplu is a scenic, mostly downhill journey through the lower Solukhumbu region, typically taking around 4 to 6 hours (or 5 to 7 hours at a relaxed pace with stops). Starting from the apple orchards and pine groves of Ringmo, the trail descends past traditional Sherpa and Rai settlements, terraced farmlands, and Mani walls adorned with prayer flags. After crossing suspension bridges over glacial streams and navigating gentle forest trails along the Solu River valley, you gradually approach the bustling hub of Salleri and the adjacent airstrip town of Phaplu, offering a peaceful transition back to road and flight connections.
