Ghandruk Via Mardi Himal Trek

Begin your journey with a scenic 6–8-hour drive or a 25-minute flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Spend the evening exploring the lakeside city and prepare for the trek.

After breakfast, take a scenic drive from Pokhara to Kande (1,770 m), the starting point of the trek. From Kande, follow a well-marked trail through forests, stone steps, and traditional villages, passing the popular Australian Camp before reaching Deurali (2,100 m). Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and the surrounding hills. The trek takes approximately 3–4 hours, making it a pleasant introduction to the journey.

After breakfast, leave Deurali and follow a peaceful trail through dense rhododendron, oak, and maple forests toward Forest Camp (2,550 m). The route gradually ascends along a quiet path, offering occasional glimpses of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the surrounding hills. The trek takes approximately 4–5 hours and provides a tranquil experience immersed in the natural beauty of the Annapurna region.

The trek from Forest Camp to Badal Danda takes you through dense rhododendron, oak, and bamboo forests with occasional clearings that offer stunning views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the Annapurna range. As you gain elevation, the landscape gradually changes from lush woodland to open ridges, providing breathtaking mountain panoramas. After passing through Low Camp, you reach Badal Danda, a scenic viewpoint known for its spectacular sunrise and sunset views above the clouds.

Continue ascending through Low Camp and Badal Danda while enjoying increasingly spectacular views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. Reach High Camp for an overnight stay.

The trek from Low Camp (2,970 m) to Landruk (1,565 m) is a pleasant downhill walk-through lush rhododendron and oak forests, passing small settlements and terraced farmland. As you descend, you'll enjoy beautiful views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. After approximately 5–6 hours of trekking, you arrive at the traditional Gurung village of Landruk, known for its warm hospitality, stone houses, and scenic mountain surroundings.

Landruk to Ghandruk (1,940 m) is a scenic trek that takes approximately 3–4 hours. The trail descends to the Modi Khola River, crosses a suspension bridge, and then climbs gradually through terraced fields and traditional villages to the beautiful Gurung settlement of Ghandruk. Along the way, trekkers can enjoy stunning views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the surrounding hills. Ghandruk is famous for its rich Gurung culture, traditional stone houses, and spectacular Himalayan panoramas.

Take a short downhill walk to Kimche, where your vehicle will be waiting. Or drive back to Pokhara and enjoy a relaxing evening by Phewa Lake.

Return to Kathmandu by tourist bus (6–8 hours) or take a domestic flight (approximately 25 minutes), marking the end of your Ghandruk via Mardi Himal Trek.
