Overview

Beginning trek from the historic centre of Gorkha after a 6-7 hrs drive from Kathmandu, the trail heads up the valley of the Budi Gandaki river through wild and unexplored country inhabited mainly by members of the Gurung ethnic group.

Manaslu Circuit Trekking is suitable for all moderately fit trekkers, which requires no previous experiences in trekking. To condition yourself for the trek, some physical fitness programs such as walking, running, swimming, and hiking are recommended before you embark on your journey. Any person suffering from a pre-existing medical condition or diseases must seek medical advice before considering any trek. Trekking around Manaslu offers a unique opportunity to experience a reasonably untouched region of Nepal. This region of Nepal sees few trekkers, which makes a visit here more exclusive and unspoiled. Manaslu trekking has been open since 1991 AD; it provides spectacular beauty along the border of Nepal and Tibet and is now a restricted trekking route, allowing organized trekking groups’ special permits to gain entry into this region to venture round its spectacular circuit.

Manaslu Trekking area has a unique environment, which is exceptionally rich in bio diversity that has made this region one of the finest tourist destinations of Trekking in Nepal for many years. The majestic Himalayan ranges in this area consist of cultural diversities and natural scenery with high altitude romantic glacier lakes and fascinating flora and fauna.  All features of this region have made it one of the most well liked places of Nepal.

The weather in the mountains is notoriously difficult to predict. At night it is generally cooler the days are generally warm. There will be snow during the month of December to February. It is important to make sure that you can stay warm and dry in just about any conditions. Expect the unexpected weather! The temperature could be as high as 20 deg C to -10 deg C low.

The trail circumvent interesting Manaslu peak 8156m crossing Larke pass at 5106 meter and finally emerges onto the Marshyangdi river valley along the main trail of Annapurna circuit.

You will have two options as where to conclude your trek.

Option 1 : Trek further to Jomsom at Kali Gandaki river valley crossing another high and arduous Throng la pass at 5416 meter and conclude the trek by flying down to Kathmandu via Pokhara, or you can also avoid flight by walking down to Pokhara from Jomsom following the Annapurna trail in 4-5 Days. Along the way you will be rewarded with magnificent views of Annapurna Massifs and Dhaulagiri peaks.

Option 2 : Continue descending along the Marshyangdi river valley through the rhododendron & oak forests and finally conclude the trek at Bensisahar and Drive to Kathmandu.
